Advocacy
Local, state, and federal legislation can have profound
effects on the ways in which trail systems can be developed
and maintained on public and private lands. It takes substantial
funding to build and maintain trails and about 99% of that
funding comes from public monies. Trail Mix needs volunteers
who can track legislation, speak knowledgeably at public
and legislative/assembly meetings, organize petitions,
write letters, and otherwise be advocates for a multi-use
trail system. If this is where you can offer some skills,
time, and energy, please contact Trail Mix (790-6406) or
trailmix@alaska.com.
